This is an update to the Emergency Boil Water Order issued for former Village of Alsask.
The Ministry of Health is advising that the former Village of Alsask is under an Emergency Boil Water Order due to harmful bacteria being identified in water samples. This order is for the entire former Village of Alsask, former Alsask base area, and other individuals who access water from the former Village of Alsask. This alert is until further notice.
Boil water for at least 1 minute prior to use. This includes for drinking purposes, washing of fruits and vegetables, ice cubes, brushing teeth, soaking of false teeth, and water put into food or drink which will not be subsequently heated.
All dishes and utensils should be soaked in a bleach water solution (approximately 2 tablespoons of bleach per gallon or 10 ml of bleach per liter of water) for at least two minutes after being washed to kill any bacteria which may be present.
DO NOT drink from any public drinking fountains supplied with water from the public water supply. Use an alternative water source known to be safe.
